REPORTING
www.act.gov.au/reportacrash
Anyone involved in a vehicle collision in the ACT
must report the incident to the police as soon
as possible, unless the incident is attended by
ACT Policing. If there are exceptional
circumstances, you may take up to 24 hours to
submit the report. This includes all road users —
drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists.
Crashes on paths and other road related areas
involving pedestrians or cyclists must also be
reported. If the police attend a collision, they will
complete an incident report.
Reports should be submitted online and take approximately 15
minutes to complete. There is no need to attend a police
station. However, if you are unable to complete the form or
require assistance, any police station can help you.
Go to www.act.gov.au/reportacrash
to submit your report online.
Ensure you have the following information available before
you start:
your driver licence
your vehicle registration details
details about the other drivers, vehicles or pedestrians
involved in the crash (if known).
Note: It is an oence to submit a crash report knowing you have
supplied false or misleading information.
It is advisable that you print or save a copy of your crash report
for insurance purposes and your personal records.
