Overview*of*lesson*auto-pull*from*Teach*

What*can*you*expect*from*this*new*functionality?*
*
• Plans*will*be*pulled*from*the*Teach*area*of*MyTeachingStrategies®*into*the*app*
around*4:30*AM*EST*each*morning.**
*
• Any*plan*that*has*been*created*and*added*to*that*day,*whether*it*be*an*
Intentional3Teaching*experience,*custom*plan,*or*one*from*a*study,*will*be*pulled*
into*the*app*and*placed*on*children’s*daily*reports.*Please*note,*Family*
Partnerships*entries*will*not*automatically*populate*as*those*are*meant*as*
suggestions*for*teachers*on*ways*to*involve*families.*
*
• Edits*made*after*4:30*AM*EST*within*the*Teach*area*of*MyTeachingStrategies®3
will*not*be*pulled*into*the*app.*At*this*time,*we*will*be*importing*those*plans*
once*each*day,*and*are*actively*working*through*a*solution*to*update*plans*in*
real-time*connection.*

• When*activities*are*pulled*into*the*app,*they*will*display*on*the*individual*child*
and*whole*class*daily*reports,*as*well*as*the*lesson*plans*section.**
*
• Currently,*only*the*current*day’s*plans*entered*through*the*
MyTeachingStrategies®3Teach*area*will*display.*We*are*actively*working*through*
a*solution*to*display*future*plans.*

• Edits*made*to*plans*within*the*mobile*app*will*display*only*within*the*app,*on*
the*tadpoles®*dashboard,*and*on*family*daily*reports.*Edits*will*not*appear*on*
the*Teach*portion*of*the*MyTeachingStrategies®*online*platform.*

To*access*the*lessons*section…*
1. Swipe*to*the*daily*reports*screen*and*select*the*CLASSROOM*
icon!in*the*top*left*corner.**
2. Select*the*blue*LESSONS*button*in*the*top*right*corner.**
3. Select*TODAY’S*DATE*on*the*left.**
4. Select*the*PLAN*you*would*like*to*view*or*edit.**

Notice*that*when*you*open*your*Intentional3Teaching*experiences*here,*you’re*able*to*
see*the*WHAT*YOU*DO*field,*so*you*can*use*this*section*as*a*guide*while*you*teach.*

If*you*have*selected*a*plan*that*was*created*with*
your*school’s*tadpoles®*goals,*you’ll*be*able*to*edit*
any*of*the*fields.*If*you*have*selected*a*plan*that*
was*imported*from*the*Teach*area*of*
MyTeachingStrategies®,*you*will*be*able*to*edit*the*
description*field*to*add/edit*the*activity*description,*
which*is*shared*with*families*on*the*daily*report.**

Other*fields,*like*the*activity*type(s)*and*dimensions,*
are*not*editable.*If*you*click*one*of*those*areas,*you’ll*
receive*a*quick*notice*that*those*fields*can’t*be*
altered*within*the*app*for*Teach-created*plans.*Also*
note*that*activities*deleted*from*the*app*will*be*
removed*from*children’s*daily*reports,*but*not*deleted*
within*Teach.*

Editing*in*daily*reports*

To*access*activities*on*the*daily*report…*
1. Swipe*to*the*DAILY*REPORTS*screen*within*the*app.**
2. If*you*would*like*to*edit*an*activity*for*the*whole*class,*select*
the*CLASSROOM*icon*in*the*top*left.*
3. Select*the*PLAN*you*would*like*to*view*or*edit*
4. If*you*would*like*to*edit*an*activity*for*an*individual*child,*select*
the*CHILD’S*ICON*on*the*left*
5. Select*PLAN.*

When*you*open*a*Teach-planned*lesson*from*the*daily*reports*screen,*you*will*have*the*
opportunity*to*add/edit*the*description*for*use*on*the*daily*report,*or*add/edit*the*
activity*time.*Other*fields*are*not*editable.*Keep*in*mind*that*the*description*you*create*
here*will*not*upload*to*the**Teach*area,*but*will*be*shared*with*families*on*their*
children’s*daily*reports.*Also*note,*activities*deleted*from*the*app*will*be*removed*from*
children’s*daily*reports,*but*not*deleted*within*the*Teach*area.*

Adding*new*activities*into*the*MyTeachingStrategies®*app*

Each*day*can*be*unpredictable,*so*when*you*need*to*add*an*activity*to*your*children’s*
daily*reports*that*you*hadn’t*originally*planned*for,*there*are*two*ways*to*accomplish*
that*through*the*app.*You*can*
*
1. Add*a*lesson*to*daily*reports*
2. Add*a*lesson*into*the*lessons*section*
*
Tip:*If*you*want*your*activity*to*be*added!to!all!of!the!children*in*your*classroom*who*
are*in*school*today,*add*it*through*the*lessons*section.*If*you’re*adding*the*activity*as*
it’s*happening*and*would*like*that*activity*to*just*get*sent!to!the!families!of!children!
who!are!in!your!room!at!that!moment,*use*the*activity*button*on*the*daily*reports*
screen.**

Adding*activities*here*is*a*great*way*to*document*unexpected*activities*quickly*to*share*
on*daily*reports.**

To*add*activities*to*the*daily*report…*
1. Swipe*to*the*DAILY*REPORTS*screen*within*the*app.**
2. If*you*would*like*to*add*an*activity*for*the*whole*class,*select*
the*CLASSROOM*icon*in*the*top*left.*
3. Select*the*ACTIVITY!button*at*the*bottom*of*the*screen.**
4. If*you*would*like*to*edit*an*activity*for*an*individual*child,*select*
the*CHILD’S*ICON*on*the*left.*
5. Select*the*ACTIVITY*button*at*the*bottom*of*the*screen.*

When*you*select*the*activity*button,*the*app*will*ask*you*if*
you*would*like*to*use*your*school’s*original*tadpoles®*
subject*areas,*or*if*you*would*like*to*use*the*areas*from*
GOLD®.*Choose*whichever*option*suits*you*best.*
Regardless,*you’ll*be*able*to*add*the*activity*to*children’s*
daily*reports.**

to*GOLD®,*but*are*shared*on*children’s*daily*reports.*

MyTeachingStrategies®*app.**
