with your scrubbed numbers, link information to source documents,
and automatically apply your firm’s standard formats and branding to
models and presentations.
CREATE AND UPDATE FINANCIAL MODELS
FactSet makes it easy to insert refreshable financial data into your Excel
models. Our intuitive formula-building tool has type-ahead so you can
quickly find identifiers. It also shows you a live preview of the data before
you insert it. Select from FactSet’s comprehensive list of data items and
create custom ratios that you can easily update at a later time.
FactSet has an extensive library of financial models that you can customize, including WACC, DCF, Debt Capital Structure, Economic
Indicators, and more. You can also easily create and edit different types of reports and charts. All portfolio, peer, and sector-based
reports calculate both aggregate- and constituent-level statistics.
Additionally, FactSet makes it easy to share custom formulas and models with members of your team, and to insert proprietary data
stored on FactSet into your models. Advanced template management tools let you easily clone reports for any list of identifiers or run
remote updates for reports stored on your firm’s network.
FactSets tools for Microsoft Office let you retrieve, analyze, check, and present data
more efficiently. Reduce the time it takes to create models and presentations while
enhancing the consistency of your data.

AUDIT DATA BACK TO THE SOURCE
FactSet provides a variety of tools that let you insert information into your models and presentations while retaining a source link and
closing the margin for error.
Use auditable FactSet formulas in your models to link individual line items to the underlying source documents, including regulatory
filings, annual reports, and prospectuses. For adjusted items, such as EBIT, the audit trail also shows you exactly how the number
was calculated.
IMPORT AND LINK DATA FROM PDF
AND HTML FILES
FactSet lets you bring data and text from
PDF and HTML documents directly into your
models while preserving an audit trail back to
the source file.
Once you’ve imported the data, you can

link to view context information, source file
name and path/URL, and link creation date
for selected linked data.
