Disabled Veterans Parking Benefit Requirements
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
Overview
Louisiana R.S. 29:27.1 (http://legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=1103833) provides
disabled veterans with 10 days of free parking at air carrier airports. The plan by which the
veteran parking benefit will be provided at MSY is described below.
Proof of Disability
Proof of a service connected disability can be provided through two means:
(1) A completed Veterans Airport Parking Benefit Certification (form LDVA F33) certified by the
Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs confirming a disability rating of 50% or higher. A
Louisiana license plate IS NOT required if the driver provides a form LDVA F33 certified by the
Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs.
OR
(2) A Louisiana license plate under La. Rev. Stat. §47:490.4 and 490.31 (see samples of each
shown below). Service-connected disability license plates issued by other states do not qualify
as proof of a service-connected disability.
La. Rev. Stat. §47:490.4 - Service-connected disability rating of fifty percent (50%) or
more and resident of Louisiana. http://legis.la.gov/Legis/law.aspx?d=321788
La. Rev. Stat. §47:490.31 - Service-connected disability rating of one hundred percent
(100%) and resident of Louisiana. http://legis.la.gov/Legis/Law.aspx?d=1017799
