can be ned by the studios. Though this law has

been in place sin ce 1976, many are not aware

of this requirement. Most people have seen

the “FBI Warning” at the beginning of movies,

that outlines Copyright Law regarding public

performa nces of movies, but may not have

taken this mess age seriously.

With the ever-growing use of tech nology

in classrooms, it has become apparent that

a more proac ve approach needs to be taken.

Children are educated about pl agiarism, the

repercussions of illegal downloa ding, piracy,

etc., but oen lms being shown without

proper licensing are not thought of as copyright

infringement. Movie Licensing USA provides

Public Perfo rmance Site Licensing to legally

show movies within schools across th e U.S.
